Cabo San Lucas June 25-July 2, 2005

We had an incredible trip. We went to Cabo San Lucas over company shut down for one week, using Eva's parent's timeshare. We stayed at "Cabo Villas" room 203. It was a beautiful location, right above the beach, and very close to the Marina/downtown. There's tons to write here, but I'll just point out some highlights:

1. Explored the city. We got quite a ways off the beaten path and walked for a while througha more "local" part of Cabo. Having Shelby with us, we got lots of smiles. It took some time to find the downtown area we were looking for, but it was worth it.
2. Ate at "Poncho's" twice. Great Mexican food. Great mole sauce, Margaritas are tasty, but weak.
3. Ate at "..... Lobster". Can't remember the name right now, but it was across the street from "Poncho's". Lobster + Scallops was $13, and it was delicious. We waited mroe than 1 hr for food, but we had fun. Margaritas are very strong, but not too tasty.
4. Went for a nice glass bottom boat ride. There wa s alot of current, so we couldn't see much aquatic life, but had a thrill ride looking at the rocks. Shelby learned the word "rock". Took lots of pictures that best explain it. Some pretty heavy swells were hitting the rocks and crashing about 40 feet high.
5. Relaxation: Hung out ont he beach for 4 solid days. Did nothing but play int he water, drink, and eat. Some would be jealous. On the last day, we were chased out of our seats by large swells and rising tide. Sure made it interesting
6. Shelby playing "where's Shelby?". We were playing her favorite game in the living area of our suite, when she decided to move the game to mom who was in the bathroom. She remembered to take her hands off her eyes to look where she was walking...... but only once. I was cracking up when she walked into the wall with her eyes covered. She was crying, mom was mad. I was hysterical.
7. Went for a sunset cruise on "The Buccaneer". Shelby slept the first hour, but didn't miss much. The fun picked up later when they pulled in people from the tour to "dance sexy" and sing "La cucaracha" with a mouthful of ice. Oh yeah, and they had an open bar all night :P
8. Sleep. Shelby slept in until about 9AM every day.....
9. Swimming pool. Swimming pool was small, but had a seat in the pool aroudn the perimeter which was perfect for Shelby to walk on. There was a small waterfall which she liked to dip her head back into and wet her hair. She was copying dad.
10. Evening strolls through the town. No question Cabo is a party town. Lot's of 20somethings looking for a memorable night. But under the surface, Mexico is a loving, family oriented town. Shelby got tons of smiles, nods, and pats on the head. We felt very welcomed, and I'm glad we brought her with us.
11. Cuban cigars. I had one "Romeo Y Julieta: Rodriguez Arguelles", and one "Sancho Panza". The latter was much better.
